The Slate Advancement Data Manager works with the Sr.
Director of Advancement Services to manage the Slate database for the Office of Institutional Advancement.
This includes developing strategies to optimize the capabilities of Slate, analyze data and produce reporting to illustrate advancement metrics and ensure the highest level of data integrity.
The Slate Advancement Data Manager will oversee and assist with prioritizing day-to-day gift processing activities and ensure accurate processing of checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers for unrestricted and restricted gifts.
The Slate Advancement Data Manager represents Institutional Advancement as a liaison to various university departments, as support to the Sr.
Director of Advancement Services and the VP of Institutional Advancement.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following.
Act as point and manager for Slate CRM.
Support the Institutional Advancement team through query development, dashboard development and reporting.
Responsible for training staff and students on the uses and updates of the CRM.
Audit advancement data systems on a regular basis to manage and ensure the accuracy and integrity of advancement data in Slate, including the management of consolidation of duplicate records in Slate.
Perform and assign data cleanup and other tasks that keep the CRM running effectively.
Perform ad hoc data requests as directed.
Work seamlessly with the Office of Admissions and Sr.
Director of Advancement Services to build and maintain the bi-directional data import for student and parent data between the Admissions instance of Slate and Advancement instance of Slate after the 10-day count each semester.
Oversee and assist with the gift entry into donor database, ensuring all are coded correctly according to campaign, purpose, gift amount, and any restrictions or reporting requirements that may apply.
Process special handling of non-routine deposits.
Oversee and assist with updates of biographical constituent data for all individuals and organizations, including address updates, constituent demographics, and relationship links in PC as provided by constituent's information on checks and/or correspondence.
Initiate, update, and maintain gift acknowledgment processes within the institution's database and processing special report requests utilizing web-based reporting tools.
Adjusts gifts and pledges as directed by the Sr.
Director of Advancement Services and VP of Advancement or Associate VP of Advancement.
Reconciles and prepares batches for daily deposit and delivers the deposit to the Finance Office.
Oversee and assist with the processing of gift acknowledgments and receipts in a timely and accurate fashion to adhere to Institutional Advancement's 48-hour gift receipt/acknowledgment policy.
Communicates with the Sr.
Director of Advancement Services to ensure accurate processing of gifts and to maintain financial integrity and accuracy.
Proactively searches the institutional database for inconsistent information, i.
e.
relationship links and employment information, to be corrected during monthly update sessions.
COMPETENCIES Communicates orally with customers, clients, or the public via telephone, face-face, one-to-one, or group setting to give instructions, information or respond to questions.
Extensive computer software experience including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Slate.
Excellent written communication skills to produce documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of issues regarding internal and external individuals.
Performs advanced tasks and possesses ability to act independently and make decisions as required in the absence of the Sr.
Director of Advancement Services.
Strong written communication skills to produce written documents using handwritten or electronic means with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.
Must be able to assist with off campus events, meeting, etc.
Self-motivated to work independently and with the team.
Must be capable or working and communicating effectively with co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS AND/OR CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Two to four years of experience with database development.
BS in Computer Science preferred.
Valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
Successfully pass a criminal background check.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
