Operation Manager


Broad Function and Objective
Directs the manufacturing and distribution functions of a plant, assuring timely and efficient production and distribution of high-quality products at the least cost and the preservation of plant assets.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Directly supervises all production and shipping supervisors with respect to production volume, cost and quality of production and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
2. Trains, coaches and evaluates supervisory and hourly personnel, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity,
3. Monitors and ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities, including housekeeping.
4. Confers with Plant Manager in establishing working schedules for all production departments.
5. Responsible for creating a safe working environment, ensuing implementation of plant safety policies, procedures and programs and adhering to requirement under EPA, DOT, OSHA, and flammability standards.
6. Assures adherence to standard operating practices/methods and maintaining the incentive and day work wage systems.
7. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with hourly workforce - employee relations, discipline and complaint procedures.
8. Adheres to budgetary limitations on all departments including maintenance supplies.
8. Supervises equipment/facility maintenance operations including preventive maintenance and housekeeping programs.
9. Recommends equipment and/or layout changes, production methods or material handling procedures
10. Recommends purchase of new capital equipment.
11. Responsible for meeting annual affirmative actions goals for hourly staff.
12. Administers Collective Bargaining Agreement up to and including 2nd step grievances (union plants.)
13. Fills in for Plant Manager/Asst. Plant Manager on all factory-related responsibilities in his/her absence.
14. Assists other Sealy plants in factory operations on an as needed basis.
15. Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications Required For This Position
Education:
Bachelor Degree is a must.

Experience:
5 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment which must include three years as Supervisor

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
